Behind the Music of Jena Douglas

Power Ballads

Like a lot of introverts, I've struggled with crowds,

but on occasion friends would coach me into making a journey out of my comfort zone.

In 1982,  my friends took me to see The Who at the Colosseum. I was there with  60,000 fans, singing loudly,

“see me, feel me, touch me, heal me…”

We were all belting out our souls, it was magic

and this introvert had a strange feeling of group consciousness “a oneness” and so… at that moment it was like, the heavens opened up and a shaft of light rained down upon me proclaiming, “You shall be a songwriter.”

So, since 1982, still an introvert,  I’ve been focused on writing songs that are personal, dynamic and inspiring;

I call them… POWER BALLADS.
